Spring 2024

A celebration for leaftcutting bees.

As solitary pollinators, they meticulously construct nests on their own, fashioning circular cutouts from leaves to house their brood. This nesting technique leaves behind intricate circular imprints on foliage, inadvertently infusing nature with their own form of mark-making.

Despite their vital role as pollinators, these industrious creatures are often maligned due to the perceived nuisance of their artistic endeavors. As such, this piece aims to celebrate the remarkable ingenuity and contribution of leafcutting bees to our natural world.
